Step one is determining your needs and seeing if we're a good fit. Start with a discovery session so I can assess where you are now and what is causing you challenges. I can then recommend how to move forward together.
No two people are exactly the same. While you may have similar challenges to others, your path is often different. I work with your unique needs and the way you learn best.

FAQs

We meet 1:1 for 50-minute lessons in person or via Zoom. To accommodate your location and schedule, we can also hold a hybrid of both in-person and Zoom meetings.
Most of my students work with me weekly or biweekly, as consistency is really important for deep learning and integration. Just like an athlete or dancer trains, you’re learning new physical patterns that require repetition and, in the singer’s case, another set of ears and eyes.

We are a good fit if you are a professional, aspiring professional, or dedicated amateur singer who wants to improve your technical singing skills and/or performance craft. You know you can express more with your voice, but you need help getting there.
Maybe you want to sing in a new style. You used to sing classical music and want to move into the pop world. Or you feel comfortable in folk but want to try soul or R&B.
No previous vocal training is required, but you must be able to match pitches easily with a strong ear. If you're unsure, we can determine this during a Discovery Session.

I wish I could answer this question with more than “It depends on the person” and “Everyone is different.” But with my guidance during lessons and a doable, consistent practice routine, which I will design for you, you will improve.
-
The answer is yes; you need to practice. I’m sure that’s not a shocker. What is really important is how you practice. “Go slow to go fast.” A mindful, intentional 15-minute practice four times a week can be gold. One hour once a week could do more damage than actually help. I know I’m like a broken record, but again, everyone is different. I will advise you depending on your needs and goals.
